Stress urinary incontinence

Stress incontinence is the most common type of urinary incontinence. It affects both men and women, and in most cases it is a treatable condition.

Do I have stress incontinence?

If you involuntarily leak urine while laughing, coughing, or while doing any activity that applies pressure on the bladder, you may have stress incontinence.

Why does stress incontinence occur?

Stress incontinence is the result of a weak pelvic floor. Physical changes resulting from pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause can weaken this set of muscles and lead to loss of bladder control.

Are there any treatments available for me?

There are many treatments available. Some involve behavioral techniques such as scheduled toilet trips or bladder training, which require total compliance from the patient to be effective. Other treatments involve medications, which substantially increases the risk of side effects. As a last resource, a physician may recommend surgery. Surgeries are the most invasive method available and are sometimes not quite successful. And then there is EmbaGYN.

EmbaGYN™ is a convenient, affordable, reliable and effective new treatment for stress incontinence. EmbaGYN™ helps to exercise and strengthen your pelvic floor muscles by sending a gentle electrical pulse through the EmbaGYN™ trainer. Within months, EmbaGYN™ will help you to regain control of your muscles and improve your urinary incontinence symptoms as well as your leakage.
